There are other changes that are not necessarily directly visible from the CMake commands. For example, the -Dmacro_USE flag now causes the new macros to be used by the compiler instead of the pre-compiled ones. Similarly, the -Dfreetype flag causes a custom freetype build of CLion to be used. There is also a new -Dnodejs flag that causes CLion to build using the NodeJS libraries.
New settings for the Azure Pipelines plugin: Now you can specify the repositories in the build server. You can find information about those repositories on the Azure Pipelines dashboard (e.g.,.nuget or.vsix packages). If you are using a custom provider, specify its path instead of the standard or the cloud repository. By default, CLion is able to download the packages from the cache instead of the repository. Specify Automatically download packages from: to prevent that.
Clion now offers a more polished start experience. You can configure your editor appearance in the user preferences. There are new keyboard shortcuts for all CLion actions. There is an improved F1 key action. The default settings are now stored in the user preferences.
Error Recovery in CLion can recover from complex mistakes and broken setups. In CLion, this is a general feature that works with any block of code. It even lets you fix misspellings, renaming, and whatever else, to make your code compile.

Main benefits of JetBrains CLion 2022.2
If you are using CLion for a long time, you know there is a long-standing request for tooltips in the editor. It is already supported for a long time for code navigation, etc. In the Settings/Preferences dialog there are a couple of new options related to tooltips:

Project-level build configuration that you can now create and configure for projects from File | Project Structure | Build Configuration. The IntelliJ Platform allows you to write your build configuration settings in a CMake-based project very easily. CLion supports both targeted and wildcard build configurations.
Problems as Maven problems. CLion detects all Maven Problems you encounter when writing your CMake-based project. These include syntax and configuration warnings, name conflicts and duplicated message constants.
I also wanted to highlight what is new in CLion. In my opinion, the biggest change is the new UI: The icons and panels, of course, are reorganized: there is an interesting new Code Outlining panel with code sidebar support (fancy and helpful), a Linking panel and additional editor tabs, a new outline panel. You can use a new Keymap Configurations panel with a shortcut for the settings dialog. There are also a new Simultaneous Edit, Fix All, and IntelliJ actions added to Refactor menu (not to
